Oldest Hindu temple in Singapore: Sri Marriaman Temple

Posted 1 year ago by playfast in response to surya's question: Amid all the modern buildings I've seen in the Chinese area of Singapore are there any relics of the past? (give a different answer) .

Right in the middle of Chinatown there is the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore: Sri Marriaman Temple. It was built in the first half of the 19th century and now seems to be the most colourful building on the street (because of its decoration). In Octomber, during Thimithi festival people gather here to see those who walk o burning coals. Man... it must be hot. Location - 244 South Bridge Rd.
