Scary "ghost marriages" in Singapore: Seng Wong Beo Temple

Posted 1 year ago by playfast in response to surya's question: Amid all the modern buildings I've seen in the Chinese area of Singapore are there any relics of the past? (give a different answer) .

An "interesting place to visit" is Seng Wong Beo Temple. Why I called like that? because there are held some really strange ceremonies... called "ghost mariages". It's sais that when a unmarried young lady dies they try to find her a partner and after that the mentor of the temple officiates a ceremony. If wou wanna see something like this (though I find it scary & stupid) go to 113 Peck Seah St, next to Tanjong Pagar MRT.
